Getting Started

Create Your Wish List: Purchasing a new kitchen is really an educational process for our clients. There are so many options, and often it is difficult to accurately explain what is desired. To better focus on priorities, it is very helpful for clients to collect pictures of products they like. This saves a tremendous amount of time in the initial meetings.

Choose Your Designer: Most kitchen dealers in the area sell great cabinets. However, most clients say that it was not the product that finalized their decision where to buy, but rather the Kitchen Designer. Designing a kitchen is a complicated and emotional process. It is only just a concept until the day it is finished being installed. Even the finest cabinets, if poorly designed, will not provide the anticipated value to the client. At Pondside Kitchens, I begin the design process by listening, and I have the experience to know what questions to ask. I strive to guide my clients through the entire project.

Selecting Your New Cabinets: Selecting your new cabinets is both enjoyable and complicated. Let's look at Stock, Semi-Custom or Custom cabinetry. Each has specific advantages and issues. Pondside Kitchens has selected four high quality cabinet companies that offer outstanding value and design flexibility. Beginning with† Schrock, a very popular semi-custom line. Moving up the price ladder is Kahles, a great value, full custom line. For those who have very specific design needs, and expect only the finest furniture quality construction, then Rich Maid would be recommended. If you desire a country look in frameless construction, Vermont Custom offers one of the finest built, all-wood, frameless cabinets. I carefully assist my clients in determining which cabinet manufacturer is best suited to their design needs and budget.

Starting The Design Process: Our first meeting will include measuring your kitchen. Following this appointment, we start the design process using the latest CAD technology. Our next meeting will include a full computer presentation at your home. If, after this presentation, you are ready for me to fully detail the design, a $250 retainer is necessary. This is fully refundable when you purchase the kitchen, and allows me to provide you with copies of the design. Revisions can be emailed directly to you for your convenience.
